Village of Greenview Village Board Met June 21.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

The Greenview Village Board met for a regular scheduled board meeting. President Curry called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and all present participated in the pledge of allegiance. The roll call indicated that Trustees Patrick Feagans, Norman Hofmann, Liz Soldwedel, Sarah Heavner and Raymond VanCleve, were present. Other village personnel present were Treasurer John Holt and Village Clerk Monica Brumm and Village Employee Trey Castles

Public Participation:

Dave Taapken was present requesting permission to hold the Street Fest again on September 4th from 1pm – 11 pm.

Braden Brown gave the zoning report. A motion was made by Trustee Feagans and seconded by Trustee Heavner to approve the zoning report. All present voted aye. Report filed into record.

John Holt gave the treasurer report for May. Discussion was had on new format for income and expense report and a monthly report of actual budget expenditures was given. A motion was made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee VanCleve to approve the treasurer report. All present voted aye. Report filed into record.

The minutes from the June 7th, 2021, board meeting was reviewed by each board member. A motion made by Trustee VanCleve and seconded by Trustee Soldwedel to approve the minutes. Minutes approved and filed into record.

Income/Expense/Bill Report- The bills were reviewed by each board member. Approval of the income/expense report was roll called, all present in favor voted aye. Filed into record.

Old Business

1. A motion was made by Trustee Feagans and seconded by Trustee Heavner to allow Taapers Tap to have their Street Fest on Sept. 4th. All present voted aye. Motion passed.

New Business

1. A motion was made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee Feagans to pass Ordinance #555, Annual Appropriation Ordinance for the Corporate Year Beginning May 1, 2021, and Ending April 30th, 2022. Motion was roll called, all present in favor voted aye. Motion passed.

2. Discussion had on possible uses of special permits.

Committee Reports:

Trustee Feagans: Gave update on replacing water line across creek. Pipe is on order will do as soon as comes in.

Trustee Heavner: Nothing

Trustee Hofmann: Met with Rural Community Action Program for help with grants and issues dealing with the sewer system. Also advised the Village liability insurance will not be increasing.

Trustee Soldwedel: Nothing

Trustee VanCleve: Had a meeting with employees. Discussion on possibly having Clerk take grant writing classes, discussion on getting walkie talkies for guys, and discussion had on what the Village was paying for at Labor Day Celebration

Treasurer: Need to appoint Trustee VanCleve to be a 4th person to sign checks if needed.

Clerk: Asked that all Trustees sign the Village Board Handbook and return to her. Advised that need to get all e-mails set up. Advised that the Bulk Water money will be collected twice a month during the summer and that a new coin machine is being priced since we are having trouble with this one jamming.

President: Gave update on the sewer project. Re-design done and sent to USDA and awaiting their approval and got letter of intent signed for the property needed for the lift station. Discussion had having a town meeting once bids have come back in. And discussion had on putting an update on the website, paper, and possibly a mailing. Discussion was had on employee wages with the new minimum wage coming up at the first of the year.

Meeting adjourned at 9:00 pm.

At the conclusion of all business, the announcement of the next meeting was made. The next meeting will be held on Monday July 6th, 2021, at 7:00 pm.
