Lincoln Heritage Museum Offers Free Admission, Lincoln Assassination Exhibit

24

Lincoln College issued the following announcement on Sept. 24

Lincoln Heritage Museum is offering free admission to patrons Friday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturday, September 25 from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. as part of the Week of Celebration fundraiser.  In lieu of the 2021 Grand Soirée, Lincoln Heritage Museum at Lincoln College hosted the week-long fundraiser to celebrate the life and stories of Abraham Lincoln and the Lincoln Heritage Museum this week.

This weekend only, visitors will get to view special artifacts relating to President Lincoln’s assassination like a lock of Lincoln’s hair, Mary Lincoln’s black mourning fan, a button worn by a Lincoln, IL resident at Abraham Lincoln’s funeral, and more!

“The best part about my job is getting to show off Lincoln College’s extensive and impressive Abraham Lincoln collection,” said Olivia Partlow, Director of Lincoln Heritage Museum. “Our permanent exhibits are fantastic but I love when I get to bring out other items that are not usually on display, like the assassination items, for the public to enjoy.”

Also, during the Week of Celebration, community members are invited to participate in the Celebration Wine Pull where $20 buys a randomly selected bottle of wine. Wine ranges in value from $5-$150, with several bottles valued over $50. Patrons also have the chance to win one of our exciting raffle baskets featuring Cardinals baseball tickets, a party-bus experience, and more! Raffle tickets are $25/one or $100/five. Wine and raffle tickets are available for purchase and pick-up at the Museum during regular business hours now until October 2, or for purchase online here: bitly.com/donatewoc2021.

The Week of Celebration is sponsored by CORE Construction and Samuels, Miller, Schroeder, Jackson & Sly, LLP.
