Village of Chatham Utility Oversight Subcommittee met Oct. 18.

Here are the minutes provided by the subcommittee:

A. Call to Order

Chairman Gerger called the meeting to order at 6:05 pm.

Present: Trustee Ferguson; Trustee Gerger (Chair); Paul Pachlhofer; Dan Lewis

Absent: Trustee Scherschel

Others Present: Dustin Patterson; Village Clerk Holden

There was no public comments during this meeting.

There were no public announcements during this meeting.

B. Consent Agenda

1. Approve the Minutes from the September 13, 2021 Chatham Utility Oversight Subcommittee meeting

Mr. Lewis made a motion to place the consent agenda on the table for discussion. This motion was seconded by Mr. Pachlhofer. By an affirmative voice vote of the members present, the motion passed.

C. Old Business

Chairman Gerger lead a brief discussion on the options discussed at the previous Utility Oversight Committee meeting regarding the South Sangamon Water Commission. It was determined that 2 teams of two members of the Utility Oversight Committee should meet with the Springfield Mayor and another team should meet with the Springfield Alderman. These meetings will occur in the near future after additional research and preparation. The goal to have the meetings occur before the next scheduled Utility Oversight meeting in December.

The committee that will visit with the Mayor of Springfield will be Dan Lewis and Trustee Ferguson

The committee that will visit with the Springfield Alderman will be Trustee Gerger and Paul Pachlhofer.

D. New Business

Dustin Patterson provided information regarding a Chatham resident that was upset with work that was done in her yard regarding a water leak adjustment. Mr. Patterson stated that the problem was caused by the village and that the village should adjust her water expense. Village employees had to dig up her yard to solve the problem.

Trustee Ferguson made a motion for the village to credit her account for $189.44 as determined by the Village Utility office. This motion was seconded by Mr. Lewis. By an affirmative voice vote of the members present, the motion passed.

A motion was made by Mr. Pachlhofer to allow the resident in the previous motion to be able to have another leak adjustment within the next three years if so needed. Village Policy only allows one leak adjustment every three years. Mr. Pachhofer's motion was seconded by Mr. Lewis. By an affirmative voice vote of the members present, the motion passed.

There was no Closed Session for this meeting.

G. Closing

1. Adjournment

Mr. Lewis made a motion to adjourn the meeting. This motion was seconded by Mr. Pachlhofer. By an affirmative voice vote of the members present, the motion passed.

The meeting was adjourned at 6:24 pm.
