Village of Greenview Village Board met Nov. 1.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Greenview Village Board met for a regular scheduled board meeting. President Curry called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and all present participated in the pledge of allegiance. The roll call indicated that Trustees Norman Hofmann, Sarah Heavner, Patrick Feagans, Elizabeth Soldwedel, Raymond VanCleve, and Brandon Wellhausen were present. Other village personnel present were John Holt, Village Employee Trey Castles, and Village Clerk Monica Brumm.

Public Participation:

No public participation

Trey Castles gave the maintenance report for October. A motion was made by Trustee Heavner and seconded by Trustee Van Cleve to approve the maintenance report. All present voted aye. Report filed into record.

John Holt gave the police report for October. A motion was made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee Wellhausen to approve the police report. All present voted aye. Report filed into record.

The minutes from the October 18th, 2021, board meeting was reviewed by each board member. A motion made by Trustee Wellhausen and seconded by Trustee VanCleve to approve the minutes. Minutes approved and filed into record.

Income/Expense/Bill Report- The bills were reviewed by each board member. Approval of the income/expense report was roll called, all present in favor voted aye. Filed into record.

Old Business

1. A motion was made by Trustee Wellhausen and seconded by Trustee Hofmann to approve the gutter repair estimate of $525. Motion was roll called all in favor voted aye. Motion passed.

2. A motion was made by Trustee Heavner and seconded by Trustee Wellhausen to approve the removal two walnut trees and trimming of third tree at 145 E Adams. Motion roll called all in favor voted aye. Motion passed.

New Business

1. Discussion was had on replacing the non-functioning meter at the school. Cost of meter is $2500. A motion was made by Trustee Soldwedel and seconded by Trustee VanCleve to order the meter. All in favor voted aye.

2. A motion was made by Trustee Soldwedel and seconded by Trustee Wellhausen to charge the cost of the meter to the school, and the city employees install the meter. Motion passed four ayes, one nay, one abstains.

3. Discussion was had on implementing a city sales tax to help with the rising cost of doing business.

4. A motion was made by Trustee VanCleve to move into executive session at 7:46 pm.

Committee Reports:

Trustee Feagans: Discussion was had on if someone is hooked into the storm sewer and has an issue where it has collapsed at the hookup, the responsibility should be the homeowners. If it is past the hookup, it is the Village’s responsibility. A motion was made by Trustee Soldwedel and seconded by Trustee Wellhausen to split the bill with the homeowners. Motion passed five ayes, one nay.

Trustee Heavner: Park Committee has meeting tomorrow. Will be having Bingo on Friday night.

Trustee Hofmann: Would like to have discussion on Citizen of The Year next meeting Trustee Soldwedel: Nothing

Trustee VanCleve: Nothing

Trustee Wellhausen: Nothing

Clerk: Discussion was had on a community bulletin board outside the building. Will get pricing on it. Also advised that the key will not open front door and will contact a locksmith.

Treasurer: Nothing

President: Advised on communications with sewer engineers. Also reminded everyone to mindful of the Open Meeting Acts rule.

Meeting adjourned at 8:55 pm.

At the conclusion of all business, the announcement of the next meeting was made. The next meeting will be held on Monday November 15th, 2021, at 7:00 pm.
