Logan County Executive & Personnel Committee met Nov. 10.

Here are the minutes provided by the committee:

Present: Mr. Schaffenacker, Mrs. Estill, Mrs. Davenport, Mrs. Welch

Absent: Dr. Hepler, Mr. Sanders

Guests: Keenan Leesman

Mr. Schaffenacker called the meeting to order at 6:03 pm

Approval of Minutes: A motion was made by Mrs. Welch, seconded by Mrs. Estill, to approve the minutes from October 13, 2021. Motion carried.

Old Business: None.

New Business:

1. MOU with the Butterfly Project- Children’s Home & Aid- Mr. Schaffenacker stated that the MOU was received from Abby Behrens from Children’s Home & Aid from Bloomington and explained that the Butterfly project is offered in the Central Region of Illinois that covers McLean, Logan, Ford, Livingston, and Woodford counties. Mr. Schaffenacker continued to read the provided material in the committee packets to the committee. Mrs. Davenport asked if the Board should reach out to Probation or the Sojourn Office for their opinions, Mr. Schaffenacker added that the information in the packets does list a contact person email address for the project. Mrs. Estill asked about the funding of the project and Mrs. Welch explained the funding information that was provided in the packets. Mr. Schaffenacker went on to read the provided MOU to the committee. Continued discussion was had amongst the committee about the proposed MOU, Mr. Schaffenacker stated that since the Workshop and Regular meeting had been moved more research could be done before the voting meeting. Mrs. Welch made a motion, seconded by Mrs. Estill, to approve the MOU with Children’s Home & aid to support the Butterfly Project. Mrs. Estill stated that she would be willing to help reaching out about the MOU to the Children’s Home & Aid. Motion carried.

Communication: Mr. Schaffenacker stated that the quarterly CEO meeting for the Land of Lincoln Workforce Alliance was in the afternoon and stated that he was in attendance and informed the committee that November 18th at the Lincoln campus Heartland Community College at 8:30am there will be a gathering for National Apprenticeship Week to make young people aware of apprenticeship programs. Mr. Schaffenacker also informed the committee when the next quarterly meeting would be held.

A motion was made by Mrs. Estill, seconded by Mrs. Davenport to adjourn the meeting at 6:14pm. Motion carried.
