Report: New Hope School District spent $8,748 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at New Hope Community Consolidated School District 6 was up 12.7 percent from five years ago, according to the Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Wayne County school district spent $7,759 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $8,748 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment rose from 178 to 192 students over the same period.

New Hope's spending in 2019-20 was 39.6 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
