Report: Gallatin County School District spent $10,082 per student in 2019-20

Spending per pupil at Gallatin County Community Unit School District 7 was up 13.6 percent from five years ago, according to the Sangamon Sun analysis of the latest Illinois schools report card district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2019-20 report card showed the Gallatin County school district spent $8,877 per pupil in 2015-16. It spent $10,082 in 2019-20.

The district's enrollment fell from 781 to 705 students over the same period.

Gallatin County's spending in 2019-20 was 30.4 percent lower than the state average of $14,492.
