Village of Illiopolis Village Board met Feb. 21.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Mayor Rogers called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

A roll call was taken, all members were present except R Reed and J. Swick by phone.

Agenda

Agenda was adopted as presented.

Minutes

M. Pevler made a motion to approve the February 7th minutes with D. Koonce seconding. Motion carried 4-0-0.

Visitors

Open Forum

Bob Greene was there requesting help to locate the water & sewer lines to tap on for his building. He will discuss with the Mayor how to find those lines. Mr. Greene also mentioned issues he had with his trailer being plowed in. He is wanting to continue work on his building but obstacles are preventing him from proceeding.

Treasurer’s Report

Treasurer gave a report on January activity. Also mentioned that Budget sheets are due back so we can get the budget prepared next month. B. Honea made a motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report with J. DeVore seconding.

Economic Development Report

Engineering Report

P. Weber reported that they are working on scheduling the structural inspection on Waddell building. The engineers are also working on the survey for the sidewalk project by the Bridal Shoppe. They are looking into different options at this time. If anyone has any other projects in mind they are to let him know. J. DeVore mentioned possibly finding a grant to resurface Matilda Street and another one to do a bike route from downtown to west side and possibly tie into the interurban route. The engineer will be doing the MFT closeout this month and will be getting with the Treasurer to complete this.

New Business

D. Koonce made a motion to donate $50 to Post Prom with B. Honea seconding. Motion carried All Ayes 4-0-0

J. DeVore made a motion to do the Tire Collection, Shred event and Electronics Collection on June 18th. B. Honea seconded All Ayes 4-0-

B. Honea made a motion to appoint Lori Correa as the New Village Clerk at $13/hour. D Koonce seconded Roll call taken Motion carried 4-0-0

D. Koonce thanked Public Works for the hard work on the snow removal and water main break.

J. DeVore also thanked the people who plowed. Mayors Rogers mentioned we had Jason Gettings and Joe Etter also plowing.

Mayor Rogers discussed a couple of water bill accounts with the Board. He also asked if there was any problem having Ryan Harter put in an application for On Call help. They did not.

B. Honea made a motion to adjourn at 7:07 pm with M. Pevler seconding.
