State Rep. Tim Butler (R-Springfield) recently revealed that two law enforcement officials have endorsed his campaign to represent the newly created 95th District in a social media post.
In a May 11 Facebook post, Butler expressed his gratitude for Sangamon County Undersheriff Jack Campbell and Menard County Sheriff Mark Oller's efforts in keeping the community safe.
"It is an honor to be endorsed by Sheriffs throughout the new district in which I live and am running (95th) and the district I currently represent," Bulter stated, "I am grateful for their work to protect our citizens."
In April, Butler supported House Bill 1293 which establishes multiple task forces to monitor and mitigate cyberattacks on state infrastructure prior to the 2024 election, the Sangamon Sun reports.
"There is a reason there have been five amendments; you’ve had a lot of input from our side and your side that we appreciate on this," Butler said from the House floor during debate on the bill. "I especially appreciate your willingness to discuss the election integrity task force portion of this and the money laundering task force by adding some folks to both of those."
In January, Butler, who has spent four terms in the 87th District, declared his candidacy for the 95th District in a Facebook post.
Earlier in February, he sought feedback regarding the potential name for the 95th District from his prospective constituents, the Sangamon Sun reports.
