Village of Greenview Village Board met Dec. 5.

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Greenview Village Board met for a regularly scheduled board meeting on Monday December 5th, 2022. President Curry called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and all present participated in the pledge of allegiance. The roll call indicated that Trustees Pamela Rouse, Taya Smith, Elizabeth Soldwedel, Norman Hofmann, and Pat Feagans were present. Other village personnel present were Village Treasurer John Holt, Police Chief Alex Thomson, and Village Clerk Monica Brumm.

Public Participation:

Deana Poe was present and advised she was the new secretary for the Civic Improvement Agency.

Alex Thomson gave the police report for November. Discussion was had on the report given. A motion was made by Trustee Hofmann and seconded by Trustee Feagans to accept the police report. All present in favor voted aye. Report filed into record.

The maintenance report was moved to the next meeting.

The minutes from the November 23rd, 2022, board meeting was reviewed by each board member. A motion was made by Trustee Soldwedel and seconded by Trustee Smith to approve the minutes. Minutes approved and filed into record.

Income/Expense/Bill Report Each board member reviewed the bills. Discussion was had on the report. A motion was made by Trustee Soldwedel and seconded by Trustee Feagans to approve the payment of all bills. Motion was roll called, all present voted aye. Motion passed.

Old Business-

1. A motion was made by Trustee Rouse and seconded by Trustee Feagans to approve the purchase of a new blade for tractor from Rohlf’s in the amount of $3800 to include blade, snowshoes, and hydraulic kit. Motion was roll called all present in favor voted aye. Motion carried.

2. A motion was made by Trustee Feagans and seconded by Trustee Smith to approve the estimate from Matt Davis Heating to add to existing furnace to heat the room that will be turned into the public works office. Motion was roll called all present in favor voted aye. Motion carried.

3. Discussion was had on update on the proposed cell tower contract. AT&T is sending for a final draft and the board will vote on the contract at that time.

No Executive Session called

New Business-

1. A motion was made by Trustee Feagans and seconded by Trustee Rouse to approve the purchase of gift cards to give to the employees as a gift. Motion roll called all present in favor voted aye. Motion carried.

2. Discussion was had on making changes to the employee handbook regarding employees having other outside employment.

3. Discussion was had on raising the rates for the use of Village personnel and equipment by residents. This will be put on the next meeting agenda for a vote.

Committee Reports:

Trustee Feagans: Nothing for committees, but question for insurance committee to check into cheaper insurance for employees.

Trustee Hofmann: Advised that if the back room is to become public works office need to get ATM removed ASAP. Discussion had on property at 724 N State Street.

Trustee Soldwedel: Continues to update website. Asked a question regarding zoning of towers going on top of businesses if they were to have a permit for that.

Trustee Booth: Absent

Trustee Smith: Welding on park equipment is finished. The teeter totter was removed because spring was broken it is stored for now. And advised the community Christmas tree will be planted soon. Discussion had on getting electrical for the tree

Trustee Rouse: Nothing

Treasurer/Zoning: Advised zoning committee might want to check into updating rates for permits, etc.

Clerk: Nothing

President: There will be an informal reception with cookies and beverages for the employees Christmas held at 6:30 on 12/19/22, with the board meeting to follow at 7:00 pm.

The meeting adjourned at 8:18 pm.

At the conclusion of all business, the announcement of the next meeting was made. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday December 19th, 2022, at 7:00 pm.
