Sangamon County municipal officials, including mayors, village board members and school board members, are on the ballot on April 4, the first Tuesday in April.

A total of 164 candidates will compete for 90 municipal offices, including 46 contests for city and village, 10 for park, fire and library boards and 13 for school boards.

There are no voter referendums on the April 4 ballot.

In 2021, the last Sangamon County Consolidated Election, it had 140,700 registered voters and 15,934 cast ballots, or 11.32 percent.

In the 2019 Sangamon County Consolidated Election, it had 137,521 registered voters and 35,517 cast ballots, or 25.83 percent.
