Logan County taxpayers paid the 30th largest sum in sales taxes in 2022, according to Illinois tax records.

In total, Logan County residents paid $6.3 million in sales taxes during 2022.

Logan County ranked 33rd in the Prairie State the year before, with $5.6 million spent in sales taxes.

The County School Facility Tax accounted for the largest share of sales taxes paid by Logan County residents in 2022.

Illinois is currently the highest taxed state in the US. A study from Wallet Hub found Illinois taxes are 39.83% higher than the national average.
