Village of Chatham Village Board met April 9

A. Call to Order

Village President Dave Kimsey called the Regular Village Board Meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

Present: Village President Dave Kimsey; Village Trustee Kristen Chiaro; Village Trustee Tim Nice; Village Trustee Meredith Ferguson; Village Trustee Brett Gerger; Village Trustee Carl Try; Village Trustee John Fletcher.

Absent: No one

Others Present: Village Manager Pat McCarthy; Chief Budget Officer and Treasurer Kayla Piehl; Village Clerk Dan Holden; Village Attorney Lisa Petrelli; Chief Fiscal Officer Megan Cochran; Police Chief Vern Foli; General Foreman Dustin Patterson

4. Public Comments Agenda Topics:

Les Morgan with Chatham American Legion and Chatham VFW thanked the village for another season of successful Legion Fish Fry’s. He also told the Village of the VFW Day of Service Food Drive which will be held on May 4, 2024.

D. Consent Agenda

2. Tuesday, March 26th, 2024, Regular Board Minutes

A motion was made by Trustee Chiaro to bring the Consent Agenda to the table for discussion. This motion was seconded by Trustee Fletcher.   By a 6-0-0-0 roll call vote, the motion passed, and the Consent Agenda was approved. The vote was as follows: Trustee Nice – yes; Trustee Fletcher – yes; Trustee Ferguson – yes; Trustee Gerger – yes; Trustee Try – yes; Trustee Chiaro – yes.

E. Public Comments Village Business:

1. Public Comments Village Business:

Village Manager Pat McCarthy gave a brief overview of the annual budget process. More in-depth discussion will be held during the Committee of the Whole. The plan would be to have everything in place and reviewed by the Trustees so that a vote can occur at the next Village Board meeting. The new fiscal year starts on May 1, 2024.

6. The executive session will be pursuant to 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(5) “The purchase or lease of real property for the use of the public body, including meetings held for the purpose of discussing whether a particular parcel should be acquired.”

There was no need for a Closed Session at this meeting.

H. Closing

1. Adjournment

A motion was made by Trustee Gerger to adjourn the Regular Village Board meeting. This motion was seconded by Trustee Chiaro. By an affirmative voice vote of the members present, the motion was approved and the meeting was adjourned at 6:05 pm.
