The Illinois College women's soccer team faced a 3-0 defeat against Central on Sunday at the A.N. Kuyper Athletics Complex in Pella, Iowa.

This loss brings the Lady Blues' record to 6-2-1, while the Dutch improve to 7-2-0, marking their fourth consecutive win.

Central scored twice in the first half, with goals at the 12:42 and 36:58 marks. They added another goal in the second period to secure their victory.

Haley Sommer led the IC offense with four shots. Holly Morehart contributed two shots, and Abbi Renwick and Olivia Ralston each had one shot. Sophia Kriegesmann played the entire match as goalkeeper for the Lady Blues, making four saves.

"Today's match was the first of the season in which IC did not score the first goal of the contest," noted a team representative.

The Lady Blues will continue their road trip on Wednesday when they travel to Columbia, Mo., to face Stephens College in their final non-conference road match of the year. The game is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m.
