Village of Illiopolis Board of Trustees met Sept. 3

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

Mayor Reed called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

A roll call was taken, all members were present except D Koonce.

B Honea made a motion to approve the August 19, 2024 meeting minutes seconded by M Pevler All ayes Motion carried 5-0-0

Old Business

Changes to the current Golf Cart Ordinance were discussed. Attorney Segatto will have updates for the next meeting.

New Business

Mayor Reed explained to the Board about the upcoming changes to the 1% Grocery Tax in 2026. After a brief discussion M Pevler made a motion to approve Ordinance 2024-07 Implementing a Municipal Grocery Retailers Occupation Tax and Municipal Grocery Service Occupation Tax. B Honea seconded Roll Call All Ayes Motion Carried 5-0-0

J Devore made a motion to pass Resolution 2024-05 allowing the Mayor to enter into an Intergovernmental Agreement for Animal Control. B Honea seconded Roll Call All Ayes Motion Carried 5-0-0

J DeVore made a motion to pass Resolution 2024-06 allowing the Mayor to enter into an Agreement for a Material Storage Lease with Ameren Illinois S Perry seconded Roll Call All Ayes  Motion Carried 5-0-0

J DeVore asked for an update on the basic Wi-Fi from the tower. Mayor Reed will check into this matter.

Mayor Reed gave an update on Circle Drive repair bill. Conexxus agreed to pay half of the bill which is $9777.50. The mayor will be having a meeting with J Closs and Public Works to check and make sure that the water plant has been decommissioned. G Hutchins is going to donate the concrete pad for the bench purchased by Village in memory of Sam Rogers. Mayor Reed and Rod Mitchell checked the playground equipment that is being stored at the sewer plant to see if it is useable.  

The radio at one of the lift stations needs replaced. M Pevler made amotion to replace the Lift Station Radio with a not to exceed of $500. B Honea seconded Roll Call All Ayes Motion Carried 5-0-0

M Pevler made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:51pm with B Honea seconding All Ayes Motion Carried 5-0-0
