The Illinois College women's soccer team secured a victory against the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy (UHSP) in St. Louis, Missouri, on Thursday night. The Lady Blues triumphed with a 4-3 scoreline thanks to a late penalty goal by Haley Sommer in the 84th minute. This win brings their overall record to 2-2 for the season.

The game began with UHSP taking an early lead at 1-0. However, Kayla Piper equalized for Illinois College in the 22nd minute, marking her second goal of the season.

Haley Sommer then put the Lady Blues ahead with a goal in the 39th minute, assisted by Erin O'Connell. The Eutectics managed to level the score at 2-2 midway through the second half before Olivia Ralston restored Illinois College's lead with a goal in the 70th minute.

In a crucial moment of play, Sommer was fouled in the box during the 84th minute and successfully converted her penalty kick for her second goal of the match. She currently leads her team with four goals this season.

Looking ahead, the Lady Blues are set to travel to Millikin University on Wednesday, September 13th, where they will face off against the Big Blue at 7:00 PM in Decatur, Illinois.
