The Illinois College Lady Blues soccer team faced a challenging start to their 2023 season, losing 0-4 against Rhodes College. The match took place on Saturday afternoon at England Stadium in Jacksonville, Illinois.

During the initial minutes of the game, goalkeeper Cassidy Tacker was kept busy as the Lynx attempted four shots on goal within the first ten minutes. Tacker managed to save three of these attempts before Sophia Rall scored at the nine-minute mark, breaking the tie. By halftime, Tacker had made six saves, but Illinois College trailed 3-0.

In the second half, first-year goalkeeper Sophia Kriegesmann made her debut for the Lady Blues. She recorded four saves and conceded one goal during her time on the field.

Illinois College managed to take five shots in total during the game, with Olivia Ralston leading her team by making two shots on target.

The Lady Blues are set to host Nebraska Wesleyan this Sunday at 10:00 AM.
