The Illinois College women's golf team emerged victorious at the 2024 Country Club Classic held on Monday at the Country Club golf course in Jacksonville, Illinois. The Lady Blues outperformed teams from Blackburn College, Concordia University Wisconsin, and Westminster College to secure the championship with a team score of 322.
Junior Alyvia Burr led the team and the tournament with a six-over-par score of 78. She began her round on hole eight with a bogey but maintained par-golf across the first nine holes, finishing with two birdies on holes 12 and 14 and recording nine pars overall.
Katie Mae Milhiser, from Springfield, closely followed Burr throughout the competition. She finished second overall with a seven-over-par score of 79, marking a team-high ten pars and a birdie on hole 10. Milhiser scored four-over-par for her first nine holes and three-over-par for her final nine.
Hannah Harpster contributed significantly to the team's success by scoring nine-over-par for an overall fourth-place finish. Her performance included nine pars and three-over-par for her initial nine holes.
Emily Guest completed her best tournament of the season with a twelve-over-par score of 84, securing fifth place overall. Callie Hughes finished eighth overall with a score of 98.
The Lady Blues are set to compete next at the Kathy Niepagen Spring Fling hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University from April 13-14 in Normal, Illinois.
