The Illinois College women's golf team maintained its position in the SLIAC Women's Golf Championships after completing the second round on Monday. The team ended the day with a score of 344, placing them in a tie for fourth place alongside Mississippi University for Women.
Alyvia Burr led the Lady Blues with a round of 83, recording scores of 40 and 43. She achieved four pars within the first five holes and parred three holes on the back-nine. Burr's total score across both rounds is 171, ranking her 25th overall individually.
Hannah Harpster followed closely behind Burr with an 86, including two birdies on holes eight and 16. Her combined score stands at 177, placing her in 33rd place individually.
Contributions to the team's score also came from Katie Mae Milhiser (87), Kate Burr (88), and Amy Fowler (91). Emily Guest and Shelby Seiler each scored rounds of 90, with Seiler making a birdie on hole 12.
Kate Burr managed to shoot an 88 despite challenging weather conditions, bringing her overall score to 164 after two rounds and ranking her 17th overall in the championships. Over the course of the day, IC recorded three birdies and made par on 49 occasions.
"With the tough weather conditions, our team continued to fight and persevered through it," said junior Amy Fowler.
The final round of the SLIAC Women's Golf Championships will take place on Tuesday, October 10 at Metamora, Illinois.
