The Illinois College men's and women's swim teams hosted the IC Invite Quad Meet in Jacksonville, welcoming competitors from Beloit College and Millikin University. The event saw notable performances from both the Lady Blues and the Blueboys.
For the Lady Blues, Jenna Kenning secured a first-place finish in the 50-yard breaststroke with a time of 34.94 seconds and took second place in the 100-yard IM clocking 1:05.59. Other highlights included a first-place victory by their 200-yard medley relay team finishing at 2:03.27, while Marjori Russo claimed second place in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.89 seconds, and Tovah Brooks earned second place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 1:00.81.
On the men's side, Nathen Trachta delivered an outstanding performance by setting a new school record in the 100-yard IM with a winning time of 57.35 seconds. Trachta also secured first place in the 50-yard backstroke at 26.20 seconds and came second in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.13 seconds. Additional commendable finishes for the Blueboys included Matt Elliot's second-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle (5:57.09), along with their teams securing second places in both the 200-yard medley relay (1:52.60) and the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:48.87).
Both teams are set to compete again on Friday, January 20th at Illinois Wesleyan University.
