Illinois College shines at Monmouth Thursday Night Special

Aleese Trimingham secured two event titles for the Illinois College women's track and field team at the Monmouth Thursday Night Special held at April Zorn Memorial Stadium. In addition to Trimingham's achievements, Keyleigh Thomas also claimed a title in the javelin event.

Trimingham excelled in both the 100-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 16.00 seconds, and the 400-meter hurdles, clocking in at 1:17.07. Her teammate Patricia Rivera followed closely behind, securing second place in both events with times of 18.24 seconds in the 100 hurdles and 1:21.85 in the 400 hurdles.

In other performances, Ashley Drake achieved a second-place finish in the 800 meters with a time of 2:45.30. Thomas triumphed in the javelin with a throw measuring 31.45 meters, while Carson Beyers came in second with a mark of 31.32 meters.

Sydney Kuper earned second place in the discus event with a distance of 39.40 meters and third place in the shot put with an effort of 11.16 meters. Maddie Benson finished second in the pole vault at a height of 3.26 meters, just ahead of Paige Nowak who placed third at the same height.

Lacie Schultz also contributed to the team's success by taking second place in the long jump with a leap of 5.06 meters.

Looking ahead, part of the Lady Blues team is set to compete at the Drake Relays on Friday, while all members will reconvene for participation in the Fighting Scot Invitational on May 4th.
