The Illinois College men's and women's swim teams began their season with a meet at Millikin University. The teams saw notable individual performances in this first competition.
Nathen Trachta led the Blueboys with victories in the 200-yard IM, clocking in at 2:04.34, and the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 56.45.
The Lady Blues' 200-yard medley relay team, consisting of Jenna Kenning, Taylor Ashbaugh, Tovah Brooks, and Marjori Russo, secured first place with a time of 1:59.84. This performance nearly broke into the top five times for the event in program history. Russo also excelled individually by winning the 200-yard freestyle in 2:08.72 and taking second place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 58.29.
Additional first-place finishes were achieved by Tovah Brooks in the 100-yard butterfly (1:05.36) and Taylor Ashbaugh in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:12.34).
Both teams are set to compete next at home during their Fall Double Dual Meet on Saturday, October 29th at 1:00 PM.
