Illinois College men shine at Snowbird Invite; relay win and school record stand out

A relay victory and a school record highlighted the Illinois College men's track and field performance at the IC Snowbird Invite held at King Field House in Jacksonville, Illinois. The team of freshmen Jaden Saunders, Carter Wasson, junior Will Detmer, and freshman Adam Hernandez clinched the 4x400 meter relay title with a time of 3:32.11.

Junior Jackson Lee secured second place in the pole vault by clearing 4.30 meters. Freshman Dylan Doss earned second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.42 and finished third in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.14. Wasson also performed well in the 200-meter standings, finishing fourth with a time of 23.23.

Detmer achieved third place in the one-mile run with a time of 4:36.16, while freshman Adam Sipes placed third in the long jump with a leap measuring 5.98 meters.

In weight throw events, junior Xander Moushon and sophomore Deon Rodgers took third and fourth places respectively. Moushon achieved a personal-best toss of 15.22 meters, while Rodgers recorded a throw of 14.69 meters.

Senior Devin Boggs set a new school record by finishing fifth in the 3,000-meter race with a time of 9:19.24, surpassing previous records at Illinois College. Robby Rosenthal's seventh-place finish in this event was noted as third all-time for IC history with his timing of 9:24.61.

The Blueboys are scheduled to participate next Saturday at the Rogers Haynes Invite hosted by Monmouth College.
