Illinois College finishes fifth at Midwest Conference Indoor Championships

The Illinois College men's track and field team concluded their participation in the Midwest Conference Indoor Championships with notable performances from two freshmen. The event took place at The Field House on Ripon's campus, where the Blueboys secured a fifth-place finish with 93 points. Ripon claimed the championship title with 137.5 points.

Freshman Dylan Doss emerged victorious in the 200-meter dash, clocking in at 22.13 seconds. His classmate, Adam Hernandez, also captured an individual title in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.68 seconds.

In addition to Doss's success, Carter Wasson and DJ Williams contributed to the team's performance by finishing fifth and sixth respectively in the 200-meter dash. Similarly, Hernandez was supported by teammates Jackson Lee and Jamie Hendrix, who placed fourth and seventh respectively in the 60-meter hurdles.

The Blueboys' relay teams also delivered strong results. The 4x400 meter relay team composed of DJ Williams, Carter Wasson, Adam Hernandez, and Dylan Doss secured second place with a time of 3:24.48. Doss also competed in the 60-meter dash final alongside Jaden Saunders and Carter Wasson, finishing fifth while Saunders and Wasson placed sixth and seventh respectively.

Williams showcased his abilities further by claiming second place in the 400 meters with a time of 51.09 seconds.

In field events, Xander Moushon and Deon Rodgers stood out in the weight throw competition, placing fifth and seventh respectively.

Additionally, the distance medley relay team comprising Elgin Scherff, Aaron Rodriquez, Caden Dettmer, and Devin Boggs achieved a sixth-place finish with a time of 11:10.21.
