The Illinois College women's swimming and diving team has been projected to finish eighth in the Midwest Conference's annual preseason coaches' poll, which was released today. The Lady Blues are bringing back eight letterwinners from last season, including seniors Abbey Glaser and Lauren Sinclair. Juniors Sam Godlewski and Jena Sellers, along with sophomores Emma Dunsworth and Julie Edwards, will also return.
Grinnell College has been named the favorite to win the league. Lake Forest College and St. Norbert College share a tie for second place in the poll.
The Lady Blues are set to start their season next Friday with a dual meet at Millikin University.
The full results of the 2024-25 MWC Women's Swimming & Diving Preseason Coaches' Poll are as follows: Grinnell College leads with 49 points; Lake Forest College and St. Norbert College both have 40 points; Lawrence University has 27 points; Monmouth College received 22 points; Beloit College got 21 points; Ripon College accumulated 17 points; Illinois College rounds out the list with 8 points.
