The Illinois College men's swimming and diving team has been projected to finish fifth in the upcoming 2024-25 Midwest Conference standings. This prediction is based on a poll conducted among league coaches, as announced today.
Cooper Meyer, a senior from Fairway, Kansas, will lead the Blueboys this season. Meyer earned all-conference honors last year after securing third place in the 3-meter diving event at the 2024 MWC championships, where Illinois College also finished fifth.
In addition to Meyer, the team welcomes back seven letterwinners from last season. These include senior Matthew Billenstein; juniors Xaiver Applegate, James Hammond, and Nathen Trachta; along with sophomores Eli Eberle and John Masiliunas.
Grinnell College is favored to win its ninth consecutive league title. Lake Forest College and St. Norbert College are tied for second place in the preseason poll.
Illinois College will commence its season next Friday with a non-conference dual against Millikin.
