Illinois College men's swimming team starts season with dual victories

The Illinois College men's swimming and diving team began their season with two wins against North Central and Millikin. The events took place at the Decatur Family YMCA Pool on Friday. The Blueboys defeated North Central 122-54 and Millikin 117.5-66.5, marking a successful start to their season with a 2-0 record.

Eli Eberle was a standout performer for Illinois College, securing three victories. The sophomore from Canton, Illinois, claimed individual titles in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard butterfly. He also teamed up with John Masiliunas, Scottie Nicotra, and Nathen Trachta to win the 200-yard freestyle relay.

Masiliunas and Trachta also achieved individual wins. Masiliunas, a sophomore from Tinley Park, Illinois, won the 100-yard breaststroke. Trachta, a junior from Topeka, Kansas, finished first in the 500-yard freestyle.

The Blueboys will continue their season with their home debut against Coe at the Coultas Natatorium on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
