Illinois College's Jake Mazrimas has been recognized as a first team All-Region 9 by D3hoops.com. This honor makes him eligible for All-America selection, part of the annual tradition that D3hoops.com has upheld for 23 years.
The All-American teams compiled by D3hoops.com and respective coaches' associations are the only ones acknowledged in the NCAA record book. Mazrimas, a senior from Lockport, Illinois, was also named to the NABC All-District team earlier this week and was honored as the 2023-24 Midwest Conference Player of the Year last month.
Throughout the season, Mazrimas received accolades such as Midwest Conference Performer of the Week three times and earned spots on the All-Tournament teams at both the Merris Invitational and Smokey Ballenger Classic. He led his team in scoring with an average of 17.4 points per game and rebounding with 9.5 rebounds per game. His contributions were instrumental in Illinois College achieving a 24-5 overall record, including a 13-5 mark in the Midwest Conference. The Blueboys secured both conference regular season and tournament titles and celebrated their first NCAA Tournament victory.
Mazrimas concluded his college career leaving a significant mark on Illinois College's record books. He holds the school record for most three-point field goals made with 255 and ranks second all-time in both scoring with 1,771 points and rebounding with 978 boards. Notably, he is the only player in Illinois College history to have achieved over 1,700 points, 900 rebounds, and 200 three-point field goals.
