Beloit College's women's soccer team secured a narrow victory against Illinois College in their final home game of the season. The match, part of the Midwest Conference, took place at England Stadium in Jacksonville, Illinois.

The game was characterized by strong defensive performances from both teams, keeping the score level through the first half. However, Beloit managed to break the deadlock with a goal at 85:50 into the second half. This decisive moment ensured Beloit's spot in the conference tournament next weekend as they held onto their lead until the final whistle.

Illinois College concluded their season with an overall record of 10-6-3 and a conference record of 2-4-2. Meanwhile, Beloit's win brought their overall record to 5-10-3 and 4-3-1 in conference play.

Despite outshooting Beloit 15 to 4 during the match, Illinois College could not convert these opportunities into goals. Haley Sommer and Olivia Ralston led their team's offense with three shots each. Goalkeeper Sophia Kriegesmann made two saves for Illinois College.

The Lady Blues finished fifth in the standings while Beloit claimed fourth place. Illinois College achieved ten wins this season, marking it as the second-best total in program history.

"Sommer finished her outstanding career by leaving her name throughout the IC record book," noted sources within Illinois College Athletics. She holds records as "the school's all-time leader in shots" and ranks "second in goals and points" as well as being "tied for fourth in assists."
