The Illinois College men's swimming team secured a win against Monmouth on Saturday at the Coultas Natatorium in Jacksonville, Illinois. The Blueboys won seven out of eleven events, leading to a 106-87 victory over the Fighting Scots. This result brings their dual record to an impressive 4-0 for the season.
The meet began with success for Illinois College as the 400-yard medley relay team, consisting of John Masiliunas, Scottie Nicotra, Eli Eberle, and Nathen Trachta, achieved a time of 3:48.92. Konnor Cartee continued the winning streak by taking first place in the 1,650-yard freestyle with a time of 20:25.97. Following this, Eli Eberle won the 50-yard freestyle event in 22.43 seconds.
Scottie Nicotra captured victory in the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:42.12. Nathen Trachta then won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:16.92 before Eberle claimed his second individual win (and third overall) by finishing first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 50.22 seconds.
John Masiliunas concluded Illinois College's victories by winning the 200-yard breaststroke event with a time of 2:12.85.
Looking ahead, the Blueboys are set to compete at the Beloit Mid-Season Invitational from November 21 to November 23.
