Menard County Board of Commissioners met Oct. 15

The Menard County Board of Commissioners met for a special board meeting on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 9:00 AM in the Menard County Courthouse, 102 S. Seventh Street, Petersburg, Illinois. Commissioners Bob Lott, Jeff Fore, Troy Cummings, and Rich Brauer were present. A quorum was present. County Treasurer Molly Bettis and County Coordinator Dara Worthington were also present. Commissioner Ed Whitcomb was absent.
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM.
Hearing of Citizens (Unscheduled Public Comments/Requests for Board Action)
There were no unscheduled public comments/requests for Board action.
Scheduled Topics
Presentations of budgets for FY25 were made by Menard County EMS/EMA Chief Kolbe Huss, Zoning Administrator Gwen Thomas and Zoning Officer Joe Crowe, County Clerk Marty Gum, Highway Engineer Corey Dowd, and Heritage Operations Group staff members Catherine McDowell and Patricia Carpenter. Explanations were given and requested for line items that exhibited increases and decreases. It was noted that no final decisions regarding salaries have been made at this time.
Executive Session
Sheriff Mark Oller entered the meeting and requested an Executive Session.
Commissioner Brauer made a motion to enter Executive Session at 12:21 PM.
Commissioner Cummings seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
Adjournment
With no other business coming before the Board, Commissioner Cummings moved to adjourn the meeting at 12:36 PM and Commissioner Fore seconded the motion. The motion carried with four ‘ayes’, no ‘nays’ and one absent.
