Menard County Board of Commissioners met Oct. 22

The Menard County Board of Commissioners met for a special board meeting on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 9:00 AM in the Menard County Courthouse, 102 S. Seventh Street, Petersburg, Illinois. Commissioners Bob Lott, Jeff Fore, Ed Whitcomb, Troy Cummings, and Rich Brauer were present. A quorum was present. County Treasurer Molly Bettis and County Coordinator Dara Worthington were also present.
The meeting was called to order at 9:00 AM.
Hearing of Citizens (Unscheduled Public Comments/Requests for Board Action)
There were no unscheduled public comments/requests for Board action.
Scheduled Topics
Presentations of FY25 budgets were made by Probation Officer Dara Gilbert, Circuit Clerk Elyse Waibel, State’s Attorney Gabe Grosboll, Supervisor of Assessments Dawn Kelton, Sheriff Mark Oller and his Administrative Assistant Ann Gorman, and Animal Control Administrator Terry O’Brien, DVM.
Explanations were given and requested for line items that exhibited increases and decreases. It was noted that no final decisions regarding salaries have been made at this time.
Executive Session
Sheriff Mark Oller requested an Executive Session. Commissioner Fore made a motion to enter Executive Session at 10:42 AM. Commissioner Whitcomb seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
Adjournment
With no other business coming before the Board, Commissioner Brauer moved to adjourn the meeting at 12:01 PM and Commissioner Fore seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously.
