Illinois College ranks third in Midwest Conference men's track & field preseason poll

The Illinois College men's track and field team has been ranked third in the Midwest Conference Preseason Coaches Poll, as announced by the league. The Blueboys secured 48 points, trailing Monmouth by one point and Ripon by ten points.

Illinois College will be bringing back eight all-conference athletes from last year: Brady Borntreger, Dylan Doss, Adam Hernandez, Jackson Lee, Xander Moushon, Deon Rodgers, Jaden Saunders, and Carter Wasson.

The upcoming track and field season will kick off with indoor events starting Friday, December 6. Five of the nine conference teams are scheduled to compete over the weekend. The 2025 MWC Indoor Track & Field Championships are slated for February 28 through March 1 at Monmouth College.

Outdoor competitions will commence on March 14 and conclude with the 2025 MWC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Lawrence University on May 9 and May 10.

The full preseason poll results list Ripon College in first place with 58 points and four first-place votes. Monmouth College follows in second place with one first-place vote and a total of 49 points. Illinois College is third with two first-place votes. Cornell College also received two first-place votes but is ranked fourth with 46 points.

Other schools in the rankings include Grinnell College in fifth place with 45 points, Lawrence University in sixth place with 28 points, Beloit College in seventh place with 23 points, Lake Forest College in eighth place with 14 points, and Knox College rounding out the list in ninth place with 13 points.
