Rep. Nikki Budzinski, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Illinois’ 13th District, has been active on social media sharing her perspectives and commitments. Budzinski, who assumed office in 2023 after replacing Rodney Davis, continues to emphasize her dedication to her constituents and broader political themes.
On January 20, 2025, Budzinski shared that she would be attending an inauguration while reaffirming her commitment to Central and Southern Illinoisans. She stated, "Today, I will attend the inauguration and continue my work on behalf of Central and Southern Illinoisans. My commitment to our communities will always come first—regardless of who occupies the White House."
The following day, January 21, 2025, she emphasized the importance for Democrats to engage more deeply with voters' concerns in order to promote their vision effectively. She tweeted: "If we want to convince voters of our vision, Democrats must do more than show up. We must listen, engage and reconnect with the concerns of working people like those I represent in Illinois’ 13th District."
Later on January 21st, Rep. Budzinski commemorated Shirley Chisholm's historic role as a trailblazer for equality and justice by marking the anniversary of Chisholm being sworn in as the first Black woman in Congress. She remarked: "56 years ago, Shirley Chisholm was sworn in as the first Black woman to serve in Congress. Today let's celebrate her legacy as a trailblazer - never afraid to defy the odds and stand up for equality and justice."
