Deja Anderson and Maddie Benson delivered standout performances for the Illinois College women's track and field team at the IC Snowbird Open held in Jacksonville, Illinois. The event took place on Saturday at King Field House.
Anderson achieved a personal best in the long jump with a leap of 5.44 meters, marking the fifth-best performance in school history. Meanwhile, Benson set a new school record in the pole vault by clearing 3.35 meters.
Other notable performances included Brooke Oakley, who secured fourth place in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.25, and Haley Garrett, who finished fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.97 seconds.
The Lady Blues are scheduled to compete next at the Grinnell Invitational in Grinnell, Iowa. The meet is set to begin at 10:00 a.m. next Saturday.
