Illinois College athlete Dylan Doss has been recognized as the Midwest Conference Men's Track Performer of the Week, according to an announcement made by the league. This marks the third occasion that Doss has received this honor in his athletic career.
During the Grinnell Invitational held on Saturday, Doss achieved notable success by securing victories in three events. The sophomore from Sterling, Illinois, claimed first place in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.84 seconds and won the 200-meter dash clocking in at 21.51 seconds. Both performances set new school records, and his time in the 200-meter dash also established a new benchmark for the Grinnell Field House. Furthermore, his 200-meter time ranks as the second-fastest nationally this season and is currently unmatched within the Midwest Conference. Doss rounded off his day by winning the long jump with a distance of 6.89 meters.
Doss and his team, known as the Blueboys, are scheduled to compete again on Saturday at their home event, the Jim Green Invitational, which will take place at King Field House starting at 10:00 a.m.
