The Illinois College men's track and field team achieved notable success at the Dr. Jim Green Invite, held at King Fieldhouse in Jacksonville, Illinois. The team secured three relay victories and two individual titles during the event.
The distance medley relay "A" team, consisting of Ryan Gerdes, Drew Cushman, Jack Bacon, and Devin Boggs, won with a time of 11:14.80. Meanwhile, the "B" team featuring Camden Pierce, Will Bateman, Caden Dettmer, and Robby Biesenthal came in second with a time of 11:20.30.
In the 4 x 200-meter relay, Dylan Doss, Ki'on Carson, Blake Larson, and Sam Stimler finished first with a time of 1:31.19. Additionally, the 4 x 400-meter relay team comprising Adam Hernandez, Jack Bacon, Sam Stimler, and Dylan Doss completed their race in 3:28.15 to secure another victory.
Individually, Adam Hernandez triumphed in the 60-meter hurdles with an effort timed at 8.63 seconds. Dylan Doss also excelled by winning the 400-meter dash in 49.86 seconds.
Another top-five finish for Illinois College came from Deon Rodgers who placed fourth in the weight throw event with a toss measuring 16.19 meters.
Looking ahead, the Blueboys are set to compete at the Roger Haynes Invitational in Monmouth on Saturday. The meet is scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m.
