Illinois College narrowly loses to Miami in MEC SSBU match

Illinois College faced a narrow defeat against Miami in their recent MEC SSBU match, ending with a score of 12-15. The competition began with Theo Biela, who played as Incineroar, facing off against LJ's Wario. Biela lost 1-3, putting Illinois College at an early disadvantage. Daniel Scott, playing as Jigglypuff, managed to even the score by eliminating LJ's last stock but was soon defeated by mindles_man's Bowser Jr., pushing Miami ahead to 6-3.

Devin Ussery took the stage as Dark Pit but was unable to secure any stocks, allowing Miami to extend their lead further to 9-3. Julian Luaders fought hard with Mewtwo but fell short in a close 2-3 match against mindles_man, bringing the overall score to 12-5.

Jake Petrovich made a significant impact for Illinois College while playing as Marth. He took four consecutive stocks and achieved a three-stock sweep over mil's Roy, narrowing the gap to just one point at 13-12. Despite this effort, Miami's Phirbs sealed the victory for his team using Ice Climbers.

The current record for Illinois College in MEC SSBU stands at 1-3. They aim to recover from this loss in their upcoming match against Ashland scheduled for next Wednesday.
