The Illinois College men's swimming and diving team began their participation in the 2025 Midwest Conference Championships with the 800-yard freestyle relay event. The competition took place at the Russell K. Osgood Pool and Deck/Natatorium in Grinnell, Iowa.
The team, known as the Blueboys, secured a fifth-place finish. The relay team members Nathen Trachta, John Masiliunas, Cade Emerick, and Scottie Nicotra achieved a time of 7:18.61. This time is noted as the second-fastest in the history of Illinois College's program.
The championships will continue over the next two days, with more events scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
