Maddie Benson set a new school record for Illinois College's women's track and field team at the Hilltop Classic held at King Field House in Jacksonville, Illinois. Benson achieved a pole vault of 11.6 meters, earning her third place in the event.
In addition to Benson's achievement, McKenzie Murray secured third place in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.48 seconds. Deja Anderson followed closely behind, finishing fifth with a time of 26.71 seconds.
Aleese Trimingham placed fourth in the 60-meter hurdles, clocking in at 9.35 seconds. Natalie Hasting took fifth place in the weight throw with a distance of 15.02 meters.
The Illinois College team is set to compete next at the Midwest Conference Indoor Championships in Monmouth on Friday and Saturday.
