In the first game, Greenville took an early lead with a run in the opening inning. Illinois College responded when Kayla Serpa scored on a ground out by Shelby Seiler. Despite efforts to close the gap with runs in the sixth and seventh innings, Illinois College could not surpass Greenville's advantage. Brooke Loveall contributed significantly with three hits out of seven for Illinois College. Shelby Seiler and Elysia Hand each had RBIs during this match. Jordan Closs pitched all seven innings for Illinois College, allowing five hits and striking out nine batters.
The second game saw Greenville establishing dominance early on, leading 7-0 after three innings. Illinois College initiated a comeback attempt in the third inning when Elysia Hand delivered a sacrifice fly that brought in a run. The team's effort continued with three additional runs in the sixth inning thanks to RBIs from Ezzy Mauermann, Brooke Loveall, and Kendall Cole's two-run double. However, due to darkness, the game was called after six innings.
Loveall again led Illinois College's offense in the second game with three hits while Hand added two more.
Looking ahead, Illinois College is set to play its first away games of the season on Sunday against Eureka in another doubleheader starting at noon.
