JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – The Blueboys and Grinnell Pioneers each claimed a victory during their recent doubleheader, leading to a decisive third game on Sunday. Grinnell secured the first win 12-6, but the Blueboys rebounded with a 9-2 victory in the second game to tie the series.

In the first game, the Blueboys initially led with a strong four-run first inning, featuring a two-RBI single by Tyler Barker and a home run from Ketch Mills. Connor Goodson of Grinnell hit a grand slam in the third inning, putting the Pioneers ahead. Despite Barker's third home run tying the game, Grinnell regained and maintained their lead. Ian Feld was credited with the win, while Dawson Vernier took the loss.

The Blueboys returned in the second game with another early 4-0 lead, enhanced by Jon Tate's two-RBI double. Logan Fleener's grand slam in the sixth inning extended their lead, and he also hit another home run later, ending 4-for-4 with six RBIs. Adam Passmore and Ketch Mills each contributed two hits. Pitcher Charlie Lardi helped secure the win with a seven-inning performance.

The series-deciding game is scheduled for Sunday at Joe Brooks Field.
