JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The Illinois College Blueboys divided victories with Ripon during a Friday doubleheader held at Joe Brooks Field, setting the stage for a decisive game three in the series scheduled for Saturday afternoon.

Following the split, the Blueboys now hold an overall record of 20-12, with an 8-6 standing in the Midwest Conference. Ripon's season stands at 11-16 overall and 6-5 in conference play.

During Game 1, Illinois College achieved a 6-2 victory over Ripon. The team gained an initial lead with a three-run second inning, which was initiated by Ketch Mills' second homer of the year. Adam Passmore delivered a key two-out, two-run single to extend the lead to 3–0. Ripon managed to score in the third and seventh innings but was unable to overcome Illinois College's offensive efforts. The Blueboys added three more runs in the eighth. Charlie Lardi secured his seventh win, maintaining a perfect season record and matching the program's single-season win record. He struck out seven batters, conceding just one earned run in seven innings. Andrew Wieneke contributed with two effective relief innings, allowing only one hit and one earned run, while Connor Akstulewicz completed the game.

Game 2 concluded with Ripon defeating Illinois College 15-7. The Blueboys began well, scoring in the opening inning and adding two runs in the third. However, Ripon took control with large scoring innings, including a pivotal five-run fourth and six-run eighth. Louie Bartletti's notable performance featured a 4-for-4 day with a home run, two RBIs, and four runs. Despite the offensive contributions from Ketch Mills, Nolan Decker, and Logan Fleener, the Blueboys could not match Ripon's batting lineup. Illinois College utilized five pitchers, with Dawson Vernier as the starter, but struggled against Ripon's effective offense.

The teams are set to face off again at Joe Brooks Field for a decisive third game at noon.
