Illinois College athletes Adam Hernandez and Dylan Doss delivered strong performances at the Fighting Scot Invite hosted at Zorn Stadium in Monmouth, Illinois. Both competitors won two events in the meet held on Saturday.
Hernandez secured victories in the track events, winning the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.27 seconds and the 400-meter hurdles in 56.54 seconds. Meanwhile, Doss excelled on track and in field events, clinching the 200 meters with a time of 20.85 seconds and the long jump with a leap of 6.93 meters.
Other notable performances for Illinois College included Deon Rodgers, who placed second in the shot put with 14.05 meters and third in the discus at 47.87 meters. Saul Hernandez also placed third in the shot put with a throw of 13.88 meters.
The field events team of Illinois College saw additional third-place finishes with Melvin Hodge in the hammer throw (50.54 meters), Jaden Saunders in the long jump (6.53 meters), Jacob Kollman in the triple jump (13.43 meters), and Caden Dettmer in the pole vault (3.25 meters). Brady Borntreger completed the field events' top five finishes, achieving fifth place in the javelin with 44.31 meters.
In sprint events, Blake Larson was fourth in the 100 meters at 10.93 seconds, followed by Saunders in fifth with 11.02 seconds.
Next, the Illinois College Blueboys will compete at the Midwest Conference Outdoor Championships in Appleton, Wisconsin, on Friday and Saturday.
