The Blueboys faced setbacks in their latest doubleheader, losing both games against Beloit. In the last regular season series, the team fell 8-1 in the first game and 4-0 in the second encounter.
Following these losses, the Blueboys' record is now 22-17 overall and 10-10 within their conference. Meanwhile, Beloit's performance has improved to a 25-13 record and a 13-7 standing in the conference.
In game one, Illinois College made an early move with a Connor Hennemann RBI single during the second inning. Despite this, Beloit responded with two runs in the fourth inning and eventually widened their lead. Adam Passmore was notable for the Blueboys with two hits, and Charlie Lardi took the mound for five innings, striking out six and giving up four runs. This loss was Lardi's first of the season, revising his record to 7-1.
The second game saw a quiet start on the offensive end for both teams until Beloit took charge in the fifth inning. They went on to add three more runs in the sixth inning while limiting Illinois College to four hits. Louie Bartletti stood out with two hits, and Ketch Mills and Nolan Decker each contributed one hit. Dawson Vernier pitched for five innings and ended with the loss, taking his record down to 1-5 for the season.
Looking ahead, the Blueboys are set to conclude their regular season with the final game in the series against Beloit on Sunday, with the first pitch scheduled for 12:00 p.m. at Strong Stadium.
