State Representative Jeff Keicher and State Senator Dave Syverson are working with the Sycamore Police Department to organize a Prescription Drug Drop Off Event. The event will take place on Wednesday, September 10, at the Sycamore Police Department located at 535 DeKalb Avenue in Sycamore. Residents can participate during two time slots: from 9 to 11 a.m. and again from 4 to 6 p.m.

The event is free and will be held outdoors. Participants can remain in their vehicles while dropping off unused, unwanted, or expired prescription drugs. Organizers request that medications be brought in sealed plastic bags if possible.

Accepted items include tablets, capsules, other solid form prescription drugs, prescription ointments and patches, pet medications, vitamins, and vaping devices or cartridges (with lithium batteries removed). Items not accepted are needles, syringes, illegal drugs, and liquids.

Keicher has represented Illinois' 70th House District since his election in 2018. He succeeded Robert W. Pritchard as the district's representative.
