Report: Lincoln spent $10,348 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Lincoln Elementary School District 27 is up 21 percent from five years ago, according to a Sangamon Sun analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Logan County school district spent $8,523 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,348 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1246 to 1161.

Lincoln's spending in 2016-17 was 20 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
