City of Springfield issued the following announcement on Aug. 13.
Thursday, August 9 – Sunday, August 19

Enjoy 10 days of thrills and excitement at this family-friendly fair featuring world renowned concert artists,
food, carnival rides, livestock shows, agricultural exhibits, contests, educational displays, free
entertainment, harness racing, auto racing and much more. For additional information:

The Illinois State Fair and the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum are offering a
two-for-one ticket allowing visitors to get into both Springfield attractions for half price. The fair portion
of the ticket can be used during this year’s state fair (Aug. 9-19). The museum portion is good through
Dec. 31,2018. Each combined ticket is $12 and can be purchased at the Emerson Building on the
fairgrounds and at the museum in downtown Springfield during weekday business hours.

Saturday, Aug 11, 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Sunday, Aug. 12, 11:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Museum admission will be FREE of charge both days. The Play Museum also will open at 11:00 a.m. on
Sunday. Doors Open Illinois is presented in partnership with the Illinois Office of Tourism.
