American Chamber of Commerce In Poland issued the following announcement on Oct. 8.

This year Wierzbowski Eversheds Sutherland is celebrating its first 20 years on the Polish legal market. The firm was founded in 1998 by Krzysztof Wierzbowski and over the years become one of Poland’s leading law firms. The firm belongs to the global brand Eversheds Sutherland, with offices in 66 countries.

The past two decades have been a period of dynamic growth for Wierzbowski Eversheds Sutherland, thanks in part to the growth of Eversheds, which the firm joined in 2005. The Polish office was at the time one of just a handful in Europe. Now there are 66 offices in 32 countries worldwide—including overseas, since 2017 when Eversheds combined with the American law firm Sutherland Asbill & Brennan.

Over 20 years the firm has achieved many successes, advising on numerous groundbreaking projects shaping the Polish landscape, cityscape, and industries. Wierzbowski Eversheds Sutherland lawyers advised the Polish government in connection with hosting the EURO 2012 UEFA European Football Championship, a key element of which was completion of major infrastructure projects—stadiums and motorways. The firm worked on hundreds of cases of vital importance for the current shape of the telecommunications sector. It advised on projects connected with the growth of the IT market, including nationwide implementations. It pursued countless regulatory proceedings and many high-profile court disputes. The firm served clients who are leaders in their industries in carrying out complex international projects and expansion onto global markets. The firm has always backed innovation and supported innovators, having advised over a hundred tech startups.

“In celebrating this anniversary, we thought firstly about people, because we have had the good fortune to work with some truly exceptional ones,” said Krzysztof Wierzbowski, senior partner. “Many of the people we started this wonderful journey with us 20 years ago are still with us. We thank everyone who has contributed over the years to the development of our firm, giving their time, commitment, and heart.”

The culmination of the anniversary celebrations was a gala on 27 September 2018 in the atmospheric interiors of Forteca Kręglickich in Warsaw. The firm hosted several hundred people—staff, alumni, clients, business partners, and the media.

On behalf of the firm’s partners, Krzysztof Wierzbowski and Tomasz Zalewski thanked everyone who attended the anniversary gala: “It was a pleasure and a privilege to host so many people who are important to us.
