Q1 2018 Parolees Recap: Who was paroled in Lake County?

There were 111 offenders released on parole during the first quarter that live in Lake County, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by Sangamon Sun.

The data shows that 100 men and 11 women were released in Lake County. Of the parolees, one is a veteran, and the median age is 38. The youngest parolee was a 22-year-old man sentenced for a crime against a person in 2015, and the oldest was a 65-year-old man sentenced for a financial crime or fraud in 2017.

The offender who had been incarcerated the longest was Reggie Gordon. He was convicted of homicide in 1998 when he was 20 years old. He is now 41.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below gives a breakdown of how many offenders were paroled in the first quarter in each Lake County municipality.
